That did not work for me, but in the process, I found something that did.

I was using Final Cut’s easy setup for HDV, but not going back into the a/v preferences after selecting that and choosing “built in” audio. The setting defaults to “default” which must be neither the Kona 2 nor the built in because nothing shows up at all.

My goal was to get the normal Final Cut audio preview (through built in, not Kona 2).

Yes – changinging the offset to -3 did fix the problem. The complete response I got from AJA tech support was:

Go to FCP audio video settings -> device control presets click on and check the following:

1)Protocol is set to Panasonic RS422.

2)Set TC to VITC + LTC

3)The Capture Offset is nominally -2.5: try adjusting down by .5 to -3.0 then try -3.5. In other words increment this offset by .5 until capture is accurate.

I too have been experiencing this problem. I have a Kona 2 in the Dual 2.0 that I am using, and after reading posts above, uninstalled the Kona 2 drivers and software. Then I reinstalled Final Cut (may be unecessary).

The FCP project files I previously had logged were still not able to be batch captured, but a newly created project with newly logged footage can be. So I guess the issue lies in the data being saved to the log file and not in the FCP application. It also seems to be an AJA/Blackmagic combination issue with the Z1U.
