Hmmm, so if I want to film 4K RAW this camera is basivcally not ready as far as the available cards (if not for ridicioulous prices).

I love the cam, but sorry, it was all about filing 4K RAW for me on this amazing camera. Sounded too good to be true.

Hope soon we will have reasonable priced cards available.

Thak you Sir, I just happen to have Knol lens flares. Never used it though.

    What about Trapcode sttar glow?

Yes The render time was killing for this and adding the effects in Max will make rendertime so much longer.

What is the best way to fake the volumetric effect in AE with Knol?
    any suggestions?

September 6, 2014 at 9:17 pm in reply to: Mat box for lens EF 24-70mm 2.8

Thank you for the reply, I have a black magic cinema camera.

    It has an EF mount.

I plan to buy a small rig, lens and “Matte Box”.

lots of direct sunlight here where I film (Caribbean) so need
    ND filters.

I dont have ND filters yet either.

For me the 24 70 mm is the best choice as it gives me a wide range
of mm choice to film, it is an L serie so pretty good quaity as well and it is fixed apreture 2.8.

I have no budget to buy more lenses at this moment.

Do want to be sure about the matte box possibilities though, I saw this:

    https://www.amazon.com/Complete-Bundle-Swing-away-French-Rubber/dp/B006EK9O4I

Will it work with the lens?

  • Sounds great, I will sure read all the links. I do think that if some one was shooting a mayor feature movie with Clover, that BM would make sure they had a proper working camera.

Problem is I can not rent, I am in the Caribbean for away from the world…

The thing in the reviews on amazone is also concerning as according to the buyers the folks at BM arte not giving the support needed for this and they get to hear things like, it can be fixed in post.

I would buy one today, if I knerw 100% sure it does not have the problem…

That said, Its an amazing cam, I even have the 2.5 k version… its fantastic!!

  • Seems like a super deal,

But suppprisingly there are so many BAD reviews, mainly about the FPN. Even after the update its still there. Way less but still there.

I was almost going to buy one untill I saw the reviews, honestly, it did scare me off. maybe save up for the ursela.

Acctually, I plan to film a “Caribbean SUNSET”. On tripod.

Takes 2 min or so for the full sun set.

Plan to use apreture of 22 or so, to get all in focus.

Will try 800 iso see how it goes, I live 10 min away from the beach so I can always go back the next day.

Thing is, it starts real sunny and bright, but as the sun goes down it gets less and less bright.

Still a 1080p raw sunset will be great.

    Great info thx.

So in full sunligh you would still prefer to shoot at 800 iso (BMCC) at 22 apreture? or use an ND filter at 800 iso?

Thank you, I remember on this forum it was said that native iso is 800 and this is what the cam performs best at.

Now with the upgrade, would you say its safe to film at 1600 at night? and still get pro results?

What about harsh sunlight? would you still prefer 800 or go down?

August 25, 2014 at 8:15 pm in reply to: difference between full frame and Cropped

Yes, its a very interesting question I thought as well.

I can tell if you put to photos next to eachother (I think I could, haha).

But even then , if the full frame is shot at F22, hmmm,

But The real question I have is: if there is nothing to compare,

Just one Pic…. or one video…. with no tecjnical info, would a normal profesional be able to see if it is shot on cropped sensor?

August 20, 2014 at 11:22 pm in reply to: Format in exFat not possible on SOME windows7 ?

    They where formated on windows7.

I have three windows7 comps and even one XP, even the xp does not format it. Only one of my windows7 comps does the job…..

I am happy I get it doone of course, but just wondering… why.

On google search seems lots of people have the problem and have all kinda weird tricks around it, but acording to BMCC manual its just supposed to work!!!!
