Brilliant – got them Exported using the H.264 code as .m4v files.
been very helpful
any general tips as to how to get these to a blu ray or dvd?

Just the standard default, i.e. no new ones installed
im trying the other codec now
recommend any pluggins?

Unistalled and reinstalled Adobe première and works fine now!

Nothing yellow in device manager. I held down shift while loading up adobe and nothing happened – would a message come up saying “plug in cache restored” or something similar. how do you check the custom settings. I’ve tried several resets of the PCas well.

Just tried both an HDV and a DV project, still no sound. and not muted. I think that it must be premiere that is “broken” rather then the project

In the preferences the default device is Premiere Pro Windows sound, so there is a driver installed also

Just tried that, and it is already set to desktop audio, but thanks! its really really strange!

Not sure if this helps, but i did a huge edit on final cut on a mac, and needed to transfer the edit to Avid on a PC. rather then export the files, i exported it to tape and re imported it on the Avid. time consuming but pretty much garanteed
