    Thank you. That was it!

It was under the category “Application” and I was trying to find it under Timeline (which doesn’t exist) or Sequence.

No, I don’t have Word Perfect (not sure I remember what that program is).

    I can’t use System Restore…no restore points.

if I rename it prior to clicking Render, it does the darnest thing: it will still add “wdp” to the new extension, so “Project A” turns from “Project A.wav” into “Project A.wav.wdp”….silliest thing I’ve ever seen. It just has to get the last word in!! ha ha ha…

Ok. I appreciate all the input, guys. Looks like this is not a Vegas issue, but a Windows issue. I’ll look around. Might be a registry problem, from what I gather on the interwebz. If I solve this, I will definitely return to share my solution. I always give back to the community which helps me in return 🙂

That’s the problem, Bob. When I am at the render window, I click on the Wave (Microsoft)(*.wav) output format. So my file which is named “Project A” becomes “ProjectA.wdp” even though the output format clearly shows (*.wav)

I don’t think SVP 13 is special in this sense that it confuses a wav for wdp. I’m googling what ‘wdp’ is and not much comes up. Never heard of it.

That is very likely, Steve. I just installed Reaper and Cubase for doing MIDI musical projects. I installed the recommended ASIO driver (Steingberg makes it, I think) but I don’t see how this would affect Sony Vegas or how that relates to WAV.

If it IS “overwriting” it, as you said, how do I go about fixing it? Is WAV a Microsoft thing? Should I consult Microsoft or search for special drivers? Not sure where to start to handle this issue with the wav extension

I was wondering the same thing. Premiere Pro has this shortcut key, but Vegas Pro doesn’t seem to have it. If it does, the feature should assume you are referring to the track which has focus. So if I have 10 tracks but am currently editing an event on track 7, then when I press my shortcut key to “select event which is under the current time indicator”, Vegas would assume you want to select the event under the CTI which is on track 7.

I love working with keyboard shortcuts because it’s faster…for the same reason….why pick up the mouse when you are cruising along just fine with the keyboard?

Maybe a script can be programmed with Vegasaur?

Thanks, Aleksey! I didn’t know where to click on the Renderers tab, but I found it was the big green plus sign near the bottom…not intuitive.

    I got it. It worked!

I can’t get Vegasaur Transcoder to work at all. Not exactly sure how it works. I open transcoder, I click Add icon on upper-left, right-click on blank area of window, selected “Regions…”, it shows me all my regions, I select “Check All” and places a checkmark on all regions listed, click OK. At this point, everything looks ready for me to start the Job, but the OK button is disabled.

Is the Transcoder Job window expecting me to take a few more steps?

First time hearing about the Edit Details windows in Vegas Pro. Thanks, Graham!!! I love the copy/paste feature. Very fast and very easy. I have Vegasaur…and just now discovered how to use Transcoder to export regions. I combined both of you guys’ tips to get the result I needed.

I used Vegas’View>Window>Edit Details to paste the long list of names from Notepad into each Region in about half a second. Then Vegasaur’s Transcoder to export each region using the region names as separate files. EXACTLY what I needed 🙂

  • Weird. For some reason it won’t work when I use my Wacom Bamboo tablet. When I switched over to my wireless mouse, it worked.
