    Here’s a question….

are you using mercury engine in hardware (gpu) or software (cpu) mode?

toggle that…and see if it makes a difference…

maybe the GPU doesn’t like mapping images that large (dimensions) ?

    shot in the dark…

did you turn down viewport resolution for example?

    sorry if that’s a dumb question…

    dunno why…

but although a complex work around….

maybe the zoom in is better built in AE

and then brought as a clip to PPro…

    hi…

You have to think of what’s in PPro as a NESTED CLIP.

so the timing changes for what’s WITHIN that clip need to happen in AE.

there’s not a “CLEAN” procedure for doing this.

if there are additional elements cut them in at the right time reference in PPro so you can cheek pacing and source frame selection…

then you can “copy and paste” from PPro to your existing AE comp to introduce them

    OK….

so you may want to look at going thru Prelude. this will let you browse pick and choose what you want to pull off the card.

and while a number of codecs would probably work….how about giving the new GoPro Cineform codec a whirl?

Is there a workflow reason you’d transcode?

or is it that you are looking for a performance benefit?

Wrapping the files, although convenient at the OS level may not provide the best experience for PPro (even if you could find it).

PPro looks at the extension of the file to determine the technology pathway to decode the file.

QT under windows is still essentially a 32 bit pathway. So it’s not the fastest available.

so you may actually be hindering performance and making Premiere force the stream thru a slower pipe.

so that may be one reason not to do that….

not trying to confuse ya…but just trying to offer a path that might give you a better result.

Not to get into a long discussion…

but is the intent to use clip wrap and then to import to PPro?

    thanks…

    Yes…reverse checkbox should work.

But I have run into the bug occasionally…and that workaround works.

    that’s all I can tell you…
