March 14, 2016 at 4:43 pm in reply to: “Mercury Playback Engine GPU” and “Enable Mercury Transmit are leading to issuesHi…
FYI…transmit is utilized to redirect output to external monitors and outboard hardware. Since you are not using that, disabling it is the right move.
The warning you got is that, the GFX cards libraries that were used to enable real time fx on your mac are not available on your PC….so your computer is using CPU’s only (software only and not GPU). That will indeed cause a difference in performance.
8gb is a little light for RAM these days, and if you are stuck in software mode certainly might be a contributing factor to sluggish behavior.
So when you go to FIle>Projet Settings>General
What’s available under “render” ?if GPU Is there….enable it…

March 13, 2016 at 3:06 pm in reply to: Automatically create one sequence per clip with 100+ clipsSorry…your post is a little unclear….
did you start with a clip and now you have 100 edits that you like each one to be a sequence?
or you have a 100 clips in the project panel and you want 100 sequences (but for some reason you put them in s single seq?)
what are you trying to do with them?
I’ll help if I can…

March 8, 2016 at 12:01 pm in reply to: “Log and Capture” in Premiere Pro….P2 Cards… basic questionAdobe also offers Prelude as part of the suite.
Prelude is sort of like the Log and capture function of FCP, but it does a bit more and is stand alone from PPro.
It allows “partial” ingest, which would create a new file on the way in.
So there are a lot of choices depending on the work you need to do…

March 7, 2016 at 3:01 pm in reply to: “record” video/stills into Premiere Pro in the same as recording audio? You know what could be very cool….
right now…you can open a .mov in Photoshop and do video painting.
What if you could use Dynamic Link…
and open a Premiere Pro Project….?
do your mark ups and then just save it as a .PSD…
then someone can just open the .PSD and see all the markup?
that would be a cool way to do it…
then you don’t actually mess with the PPro Project…
all the mark up is actually in the PSD….

As noted…
Cubes are done pretty easily in AE.
Also Boris FX has got it too.

Right…
the dependencies of the titles in the duplicated sequences go back to the original files and are not relinked to copies simply by duplicating the bin
you might try this…
1) create a project that has a sequence and titles they way you want and save it as a “template”
2) now start a fresh project and import that project template in.
3) for every new one you want to do, import again….
each import should give you a new set with the the titles used in the sequence linked to that specific imported set.
you might need to create a bin for each set…
but that SHOULD do what you want…

Hi Tom…
What are you doing with your master? Where is it going?
my guess is that it will all need to be centered….
unless technically you need to be split for your final delivery spec….

Yeah….that seems like a fundamental…
Out and duration to back time the IN
or just where you are parked as understood IN
and just hit D for duration…

Hi Sonia,
I don’t think there is a “duration” function…
love to be wrong…
but I think it’s
MARK IN
+2.00
MARK OUT
or
MARK OUT
-2.00
MARK IN
remember that durations are not inclusive
so those durations would actually be 2:01 as done above
if you want 2:00 you need to subtract a frame (based on your frame rate)
so, 1:29 (for example)
