February 14, 2006 at 3:52 pm in reply to: color correction of multiple clips

    Hi,

If you want to Color correct the srource master as opposed to color correcting each clip….

    you can do the following:

    1) Make a sequence and call it “base color correction”
    2) Edit master clips to the seqeunce without marks.
    3) Color Correct the clips as necessary

Now here is where it gets a little unconventional:

    1) You actually need to make your source selects from this sequence.
    2) Use the razor to split the clip at their in and out points
    3) Select the clip, Copy
    4) Go t your main sequence and Paste the clip.

This will paste the selected clip into yout timeline with the cc information.
I would use this as Opposed to nesting, beacause ppl have complained that PPro gets a litle sluggish with big nests.

Copy and past still references the original media directly.

I’d also reccomend this for Constant CC, not CC that is Keyframed.
Tha should really be dine on the main timeline duirng the finish.

But this method should keep you consistent during the rough cut.

    Good luck…

February 8, 2006 at 9:22 pm in reply to: Axio capture codecs and bitrates

    Hi Mark…

    Long time…

Working for PEI again….and we’ve been very successful with Axio.

The MPEG Codec is visually great. Data Rates are low so they don’t tax drives at all….

Making the the comparison to KBF is an exercise in futility, because MPEG compression is entirely different than MJPEG…

Nice thing is that you can mix all the differnt codecs on the same timelilne….

    Give it a test drive….you won’t be sorry….

    Axio is rockin…

Probably the nicest thing (aside of the pure amount of real time performance) is that you can apply the fx like plug ins in the order you need them….not the order the hardware dictates…..

The approach to audio is a little funky in 1.5, but V2 seems like it’s rectifying that…

    Cheers my friend…

February 6, 2006 at 11:51 am in reply to: mixing left/right channels in PPro 1.5?

    Hi…

In the Audio Effects>Stereo folder there filters called “fill left” and “Fill right”

Apply them to the different clips on your timeline…

then just mix the volume of the clips or tracks as needed….

    hope that helps….

I have learned to accept the fact that it is difficult to escape the mouse in PPro..

You just need to use it…

    If it helps…

go to the edit menu and pull up the Keyboard Editor….

They actually have an FCP preset…BUT..not all workflows are exactly the same…so you may still end up looking for things that Premiere doesn’t have or does differently enough that there may not be an equivalent in PPro.

I use both….so just post if you need anything…

    Praise the coders….

    I think they heard us!

This has really been a bugger….

but the new workflow should be more more tolerable….

February 3, 2006 at 4:30 pm in reply to: What does Adobe Bridge Add to Premiere?

    Hi Richard….

“I think that bridge is the overseeing software that sees all the elements. Remember with this verison of PP, XMP data is embedded into the captured media files(Adobe’s version of a portable metadata container ala XMF). ”

This assumes then that all the media mgmt functions for Premeire Pro should happen from the Bridge….(as opposed to using Import/delete from Premiere itself….certainly would make sense to me….

Not having seen PP 2 yet…you’d have to tell me ultimately….

    Hi Guys….

    This just in

from the Adobe Pre Pro 2.0 PDF

“Adobe BridgeAdobe Bridge brings the files in your project into one central command center, making it faster and
to access and manage video and audio files, native Photoshop and Illustrator files, and After Effects projects. Efficiently organize, browse, preview, and locate your content files. Drag the files you want directly from Adobe Bridge into your current project. Within Adobe Bridge, you can also run batch processes and
