    Hmmm..

I’d suggest taking a look at installing the 5.02 update.

I experienced similar things under CS3, and a subsequent patch solved it.

I’d bet that of you spoke with adobe, that’s the first thing they’d ask you.

November 5, 2010 at 2:07 pm in reply to: putting a gap between each clip

make a new black clip in the project panel and load it into the source viewer

set the duration to the size of the gap you need

    select your sequence panel

    1) Press Page down

    2) Press , to insert edit the black slug in

repeat this start from “1)” above

    should be quick….

  • It’s likely that mismatch is the culprit.

In your new sequence…if you double click a clip to load it into the source viewer. Where do the In and out markers fall?

is your material still marked they way you intended?

Also compare the Clip Duration in the new sequence versus the old one.

I think you’ll find that it is considerably longer in the new sequence than in it’s origin.

Do they have a resolution preset with a frame rate that matches your old seqeunce?

if so that may be the shortest path to getting you where you need to go.

November 4, 2010 at 7:04 pm in reply to: Capturing free run timecode into separate clips

So when you capture from start to end of a tape, and capture across timecode breaks (due to the free run setting)…the timecode generated my PPro doesn’t follow the breaks?

And thus you can’t matchup the audio easily?

    Alex

  • WHat was the frame rate of the old seq?

November 4, 2010 at 3:45 pm in reply to: Efficient use of AE dynamic links in PPro CS5

I’d suggest bringing the reference audio chunks into AE…

animating completely there and rendering final clips.

Between ram preview in AE (0 on the numeric keypad)

and using Ctrl Key to scrub as you drag the timeline you should be able to get things animated pretty quickly.

then either export final media to import into PPro or you can bring those comps via dynamic link into PPro and render your timeline.

  • hmmm

your new sequence has the same frame rate as your source footage?

    that might cause that…

    Guy…

    out of curiousity…

what is it that you are animatingin PPro that could not be simply built in AE and then rendered as a final clip leaving simpler final assembly to PPro?
