Sophie….
try:
01) The GPU may not like odd resolutions. What happens if you disable the GPU in File>Project Settings and setting to software only?
OR
02) try this:
a) make your Comps in at a standard resolution with a 1080 height (1920 x 1080 HD preset)
b) but in AE use guides to show you where your 1080 x 1080 size is in the center of the comp
c) Render as clips to import into PPro
d) in Premiere, before you import the renders goto to Preferences>General and Disable “Default Scale to Frame Size”
e) Import your renders and place them on your 1080 by 1080 timeline. As the animation will be centered and should be the right height, it should work just fine…with no resizing
(note if it’s the first clip dropped in sequence, PPro will ask you if you want to adjust the sequence settings…but you DON’T want to.)
