Collaborativ editing
Posted by Robin Erard on July 26, 2016 at 8:50 amHello,
I’m editor, based in Switzerland. My director is based in England, and we can’t be together during 3 months. Is it possible to share a project with him in real time, but just for playing.
1) We have the same Adobe PP CC version
2) We have the same rushes (exact copy)I would like to be able to play the timeline on my “master editing edit station” and that it plays at the same time on his “slave editing station”.
Is there a way for doing that, I remember it was possible into FCP 7.

July 26, 2016 at 3:02 pmHi…
I don’t know about simultaneous collaborative like the “theater” mode of FCP…
but you might look at FrameIO for Premiere Pro….
Collaboration…
version control…
annotations and comments all tied directly to the timeline…And it all sits in PPro for you….and your director doesn’t necessarily have to be a PPro user…
might really be a good way to go….

July 26, 2016 at 3:21 pmTeam viewer would be a very inexpensive way to try what you want to do. If it works pay for the commercial version to support their excellent efforts. I’ve used it to collaborate over many years, but not for that particular function you are asking for.

July 26, 2016 at 3:23 pmHello,
I will try that. TeamViewer isn’t exactly what I need.

July 26, 2016 at 3:28 pmAre you Mac or PC?
It’s been a while since I used Team Viewer, but there were cross platform issues in dealing with Audio in the past….so make sure you test that and get it worked out…
