how are those blocks calculated? how big is a block? Is it a percentage of the length of the timeline?

I mistyped – I have 8gb of memory on the laptop.
I wish there was a way that I could tell AE to only use what it can without using so much that it crashes the system

I am leaning towards the Nvidia Quadro X5000 –
After FX and PPro are my two main software (and the others like Meida encoder and Encore)

My Set up is
OSX.8.2
2 x 2.4Ghz 6 core intel Xeon
Memory 32GB

Any reason why I shouldn’t go with the Quadro X5000?

say my budget is to get the best in the market,….whatever that is. Is the Quadro K5000 the best?

The more I work with Ppro the more I wish it had an Log and transfer feature like Final Cut does. So it encodes the footage from the card into a high quality (or whatever quality you want) .mov file

My transition from FPC to PPro has been very smooth – and overall I’m happy with the production suite!!

What I mean is from Ppro, send all the open timelines to Media Encoder, rather than having to go to each timeline to export to send to Encoder.

I have 18 timelines so it gets tedious.

I’ve looked, but I think I should ask before I request it.
you know how in final cut i can click on the program window and just move the clip around and size it just by dragging a corner?, could I do such thing in PPro?
