    Thanks Alex,

I am on a mac but having lots of problems, I need to reset scratch disks every time I open the project in another machine, although they are always pointing to the same scratch disks, and also a lot of project will open with the funky timeline I posted the pic for.

    Best,

    Hi Bob:

We are still having this issues after trying all this, is your system working better? We finally gave up on AJA and bought 2 Blackmagic Cards and no problems so far. The only reason I would try Aja again is because Blackmagic is very noisy.

    Thanks,

    Thanks Peter:

We are upgrading and we’ll try this. After more experimenting we have been able to determine that the AJA io4K does not work very well compared to the ioXT as far as playing back audio. We are all AJA based so can not test blackmagic, but we will contact AJA next to see if there are any developments to fix these issues.

    Thanks again,

    Hi Peter:

Thanks for your email and the permission to nag.

I am confused by your reply, first you mention not to put Media Cache file son the network because it would constantly generate PEK and CFA files but then you mention that it’s ok to point 5 machines to the same fodder for Media Cache Files.

So just to make sure, with 8.1 it’s ok to point several machines to the same folder for Media Cache files,
but we should keep the Medica Cache Database Local.

And th least questions is if this rule also applies to After Effects,

    Thanks a lot!

    Hi Peter:

First of all, thanks a lot for your post, it is great when you see companies jump in threads to solve our problems.

I have not tested this out yet, but after your recommendation I of course will.

Do I point all the 5 machines to the same folder for Media Cache Files?
Do I point all 5 machines to the same folder for the Media Cache Database?

Thanks again, I really appreciate your help!
