    UltraStudio 4K very noisy

    Hi All:

    We recently switched to Blackmagic from Aja because we could not get the Aja to work correctly on our systems, while we are very happy so far the only issue we find is that they are extremely noisy, we have two of them and one is considerably louder than the other one, unfortunately keeping them out of the rooms is not an option so I was wondering if you have any advice on how to make the units quieter.

    If you don’t mind voiding your warranty, some people have successfully removed the top of the case, disabled the onboard fans and installed a 1U rack fan unit directly above it with the fans facing downward. The larger diameter fan means more air at lower speeds, and thus less noise.
