    Given that it doesn’t do any conversions or rendering, maybe it doesn’t need to be a 64-bit app.

    My free version of the Lower Third generator allows three sections of text with different specs, with multiple lines of text per section.

    You’re right. That tip only works with clip markers. What a twit!

    You could export your project as XML, then go into the XML using a text editor and delete the bits that define markers:

       <marker>
          <name>Marker 4</name>
          <in>327</in>
          <out>-1</out>
       </marker>
       <marker>
          <name>Marker 3</name>
          <in>334</in>
          <out>-1</out>
       </marker>
       <marker>
          <name>Marker 1</name>
          <in>346</in>
          <out>-1</out>
       </marker>
       <marker>
          <name>Marker 2</name>
          <in>368</in>
          <out>-1</out>
          </marker>
    </sequence>

    becomes

    </sequence>

    Then import the XML into a new project!

    If they are sequence markers, you can delete them in the browser.

    Select your sequence in the browser, click the reveal triangle to show a list of markers in the sequence. You can then click and shift-click to select multiple markers and delete them with the Delete key.

    October 5, 2009 at 4:25 pm in reply to: Customizing Cross Dissolve

    Using some free plugins, I’ve added more controls to many of the standard transitions including Cross Dissolve:

    As well as changing the shape of the curve using a couple of bezier points, you can also set the transition to start a specific percentage in. Using your example you would set the transition to be 40 frames long (centred on the edit), and set the Start % to 25. This starts the transition 25% of the frames in (10 frames in) – it will continue to 100% of the frames (20 frames after the edit point).

    Download the transitions from my website.

    October 4, 2009 at 11:35 pm in reply to: Missing Effects

    These effects are only available if Motion is installed on your system.

    That’s why the FCP manual refers you to the Motion manual to understand how they work.

    Do you have Motion installed?

    August 18, 2009 at 5:03 pm in reply to: iphone 3Gs video audio drift

    I had this problem on 6.0.6, not surprised as it is H.264 encoded.

    I put the clip on a 422 timeline, exported and reimported and all was well.

    August 14, 2009 at 5:13 pm in reply to: Motion 4 help menu really slow

    I’ve found Apple’s Help Viewer pretty slow.

    If you don’t mind losing search facilities, you can paste links the the help system into the address bar of your browser:

    file:///Applications/Motion.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/motion_help/index.html
