Is this still current? (The screenshot of two active RAID0 groups, 4 drives each.)
If so, what do you mean when you say the following?

Any chance you could take a screenshot of that? (Puzzling that the config utility shows active RAID groups, yet the boot up screen says there’re none.)

It does, you’ll likely see speeds in excess of 200MB/s vs. FireWire 800’s 60-ish MB/s, i.e. four times the speed.

The controller reports no RAID sets (not really volumes) for a bunch of drives but TWO uninitialized volumes show up in disk manager? This is a supernatural experience, it can’t be happening if we go by conventional IT wisdom.
Please hire a tech or consultant to trouble-shoot this for you.

There is a way but it’s not trivial. It’s been a while since I did research on data and partition recovery software so I can’t vouch for any specific product; here is one I ran across.
Before you try any data recovery, you’d need to make sure the RAID sets are back to where they were – i.e. do not try data recovery until the controller fully recognizes the volumes.

ATTO ThunderLink SH 1068 but it doesn’t have RAID, so a TB-to-PCIe box might still be the best option.

What’s a “Pegasus R12”? Possibly Pegasus R6 12TB? I thought I missed the R12 announcement – but then Google turns up nothing on it, so it must be R6?
I have no clue as far as the issue but will be very curious what’s causing it. Do arrays benchmark OK when tested individually?
Are these four identical arrays? Are you copying between them?
Regardless, 27GB in 11 minutes translates to 41MB/s if I am not mistaken, which is horrendously slow for R6. Something’s not right here. Bad cable? Bad TB chip in your iMac or MBP? Could you test the arrays individually and post the results (MB/s) here?
