    Another thing to add..

Cinestyle is awesome… did some tests with this the other day and got great results for the colorgrade. You might want to apply a LUT to stretch out the image a little. Depending on what software you use for the grade, there are a few free LUTs out there available for download.

[Juan Salvo] “The issue you’ll run into isn’t drives but debayering”

    Thanks Juan,

Would there by any way to avoid or reduce this? (sorry, I’m still new to the resolve system).

[Mikhail Puzyrev] “I often use raid 0 setup, but I do not think about possible crash as I have a copy of important footage at hand.”

Thank you for the advice Mikhail,

So its obviously a good idea to keep backup of the Raw footage its self, but i’m guessing you also keep a back up of the interface work?

[Rohit Gupta] “The Accusys drives are pretty good.”

    Thanks Rohit,

Do you recommend I change my current setup to RAID 0? I’m just trying to find a way to spend the least amount of money possible..

[Paul Jay] “I am only getting an average read/write speed of 260-270 Mb/s.”

    Thanks for the reply.

I will be working with RED footage without RED Rocket. I figured a higher storage speed might be useful. What sort of footage do you usually deal with?

March 7, 2012 at 3:26 pm in reply to: Scopebox 3.0

[Ola Haldor Voll] “The way you bring the scopes to life is to input any firewire, webcam, analog or digital video signal, and tell ScopeBox where the signal comes from, what framerate and whether it’s YUV or RGB.”

    Ahh thanks Ola,

So considering a have a Mac Pro and a MacBook Pro, could I simply connect the two via Firewire and run scopebox 3.0 off the GPU from my MacBook Pro and link it to Resolve on my MacPro? (Sorry, I’m still learning the basics)

Hmm.. How do you try it in Scratch or Startup mode?

    Thanks Sascha

8.2 Sounds awesome. Following up from this post ago…

Do you or anyone else know if there have been improvements on the Tangent Wave jog wheel? I received a fast response from Tangent mentioning how Blackmagic’s Resolve totally organises the relationship between the two. I was just wondering if 8.2 has made any improvements in this regard (especially with the jog wheel).
