Thanks! I have been using Premier Pro CS5 but have just bought FCP X which I have a feeling does not have the capability of adding resync’d clips back into a bin.

Thanks for the reply David. What editor are you using?

I too am pleased that I am not the only one going nuts on this. I am an amateur film maker but quickly noticed the sync issues. Does anybody know if there is a way to create a custom Compressor setting that could shift the audio by the 2 frames?

Thanks for your advice guys. Converting the footage as we speak to Pro Res and 30 FPS. Gonna take a little while though!

  • Might be worth doing a search on “Alpha channels” in the Wikipedia. Think they have something on it there.

Thanks for the reply Joey, do you know if Premiere will act in the same way FCP?

    Cheers

Hi, not wanting to hijack this thread but I am also having a similiar issue but with a logo. When selecting “straight alpha”, it suggests that if there is transparency then you are also best exporting an alpha channel. Am I right in saying that you would then combine the two rendered files in FCP or Premiere to mask out the unwanted black and bring back the transparency? I have tried selecting “chroma” key which does take out the black but looks a bit rubbish and jagged.

    Thanks

Hi Mike, thanks for replying. I think the issue is actually more to do with the red colour. After searching these forums I see that red is quite an awkward colour so I have reduced the R value which seems a lot better.

I am not sure of the best workflow with regards to AE and Premiere. Do you think that I should cut my final footage in Premiere and then load into AE for the logo overlay/transition?

    Regards
