While I don’t think they have anything to do with your problem, out of my own curiosity what is your BOB and Legalizer?

October 18, 2006 at 11:31 pm in reply to: SD to SD Conversion not working on my Kona2I just posted that it did work when choosing “Macintosh Desktop” as the Default Kona Output.
Then from there, all the other outputs work until you get to input passthrough… then it bugs out again. But … i guess… mine is working now?

October 18, 2006 at 11:21 pm in reply to: SD to SD Conversion not working on my Kona2HEY JEREMY!
I just discovered that the SD to SD conversion DOES WORK when choosing “Macintosh Desktop” as the Default Kona Output.
So, is the answer simply that it wont work any other way? Or is there a bug with the other Outputs?

October 18, 2006 at 4:37 am in reply to: Time Compression/Expansion plug-in for FCP?Zatchary, i actually just brought this up yesterday….
As CharlieX2 said, Soundtrack Pro can do it…. tho i find it inefficient and honestly produces poor results.
I too came from the Avid world originally, and this lacking feature is ridiculous.
I once looked into purchasing Digidesign’s plugin, but unfortunately it wont work with FCP (i even looked into methods of converting it into an FCP compatible format). This ability needs to work in conjunction directly in your FCP timeline to be of any practical use. I do hope that with enough complaints and encouragement from working professionals, Apple will come to their senses and add this plugin as built in internal standard,… or co-develop with a third party so that we can purchase this plugin, since it is very worth it.ive also tried a little app called “Amazing Slow Downer” which works “ok”… but again it works outside of FCP, and the sound quality is a bit poor….
if you can get away with using either of these for your offline rough cut (if applicable), and can afford a proper final mix, finishing (and recreating these) in protools is one way to go.

Yes your team certainly does rock, and i am by no means trying to break up the well deserved love fest, but i must bring everyones attention to an adjacent post topic regarding this new SD to SD feature not working for all.
while it seems that only myself and JeremyG have spoken up regarding this, and i have yet to call you guys directly due to lack of a chance to (but i will try to Wednesday), but for some of us this truly great (when working) feature is just not working at all…
as i posted in my other thread:
“On both the IN and Out, turning on any of the SD to SD conversions, i am not getting a working signal.
I would compare what it looks like to lets say when you send a Pal or HD signal to a monitor which can not process it correctly.
I have reinstalled the software, and flashed the Firmware. I assumed it would work as simply as the Kona’s ability to up and down convert HD under the Secondary Format section of the Control Panel.”So Bob, David, and Walter, i take it that you have all tested it out and it works perfectly for you?
Hopefully both Jeremy and I dont have a defect in our Kona2…? There must be something else that is a miss…..
