Sony Vegas does not support expressions.
Take a look at Tweener from Vegasaur toolset, it can generate all intermediate keyframes for you. -

yes, you need third-party converters or Vegas extensions

you can re-wrap MOV files to MP4 w/o re-encoding, for free! using command line utility ffmpeg.

I can only add that you can also use Sort Events Chronologically 1-click command in Vegasaur. The sorting is based on the recorded date/time of clips or photos. If recorded date/time is not available, the file creation date is used.
Maybe the ability to batch rename files directly in Vegas would be useful, what do you guys think?

Finally, I also encountered this problem, and here’s my observation:
old PSD files created in old versions of Photoshop do not cause the lock, new PSDs do.
