  • Seamless .PSD files edit from Vegas 12. Is it possible?

Posted by Carlos Silva on May 3, 2013 at 6:57 am

    Hi,

I created a .PSD (photoshop) file and inserted it into Vegas 12 timeline. From the Vegas timeline I open the .PSD file in Photoshop and Gimp. In both cases I could edit the file, but I couldn’t save the edition. I was expecting it could work seamless as Vegas + Soundforge. Is this seamless .PSD edit/save possible when file is opened from Vegas timeline?

    Thanks,
    Cadu

There is an option in Preferences that enables Vegas to close media files when you open them in external applications for editing, and reopen them again when you switch to Vegas.

“Preferences that enables Vegas to close media files”
    That solved my problem. Thanks!

Actually, the “Preferences that enables Vegas to close media files” worked a first time. Now, even with that “preferences” box checked I need to close vegas project in order to edit photoshop. I tried to turn off, restart computer etc. but photoshop can’t save edition if the same file is open in Vegas. Any tip, workaround?
    Thanks,
    Cadu

Sorry to bring this thread up again. But does anyone have a solution to this or is this a known bug. I have the close media files checked but this does nothing for me and i am unable to save psd files without restarting Vegas.

    thanks

Vegasaur 2.5 has Auto Offline tool that can be used with PSD files. Read here.
