Define ‘closed captions’.
Many people confuse closed captions (for broadcasting), subtitles (for DVD) and regular text captions. -

It can only export/import presets and filter packages. As advertised.

Take a look at FootageStudio 4K. They claim that they support ProRes 4:2:2 encoding on Windows PC.

1. Select events
2. Click Vegasaur toolbar icon and choose Editing > Quick Properties (Quick Properties window opens – find it, sometimes Vegas opens such windows next to others Vegas windows, so you have to drag it and resize as you need)
3. Open Placement tab, set the properties as shown in the picture (see my first post)
4. Click Apply -

Make the overlay track a parent of the source footage (Parent/Child relationship). Place the other clips on a separate track.

Group them (select and press G)

easy peasy with Vegasaur.

You can insert an empty 2D track between 3D tracks or move the top track along the Z axis

I guess that the bottom layer is also 3D – make it 2D (set Compositing Mode to Source Alpha)

Can you combine the audio and video into one file?
For example, put them in a single .veg project and use this project as an overlay?
You can also put only the audio file to the project (with a silent part of the desired length) and use it as a background layer.
