Ole thank you for the link, it sounds like an easy way to lighten up the amount of work of the computer to deal with the timeline although it may take a lot more storage space.
What’s the procedure then, after downloading the DNxHR codec?

About the DNxHR, what does Avid do exactly and how is it supposed to help reducing the abnormous loading time?

quality stays fine (although Sv automatically changes frame size to 1280×720 when I set 59.940p)

ok, apart from the deinterlace mode I am using your same settings. Even on “none” nothing changes.

most of the videos from the Sony a7s are 47192kbps, 77740kbps and 59071kbps for the Hero7.
Are you changing the framerate to 25?

sorry, I had written the project properties in my first post that’s why I thought they were 2 different things:
    1920×1080 29,970fps progressive interpolate fields.

If I only drag a few clips on the timeline (either from the sony alpha or the hero7) they run fairly smooth. Problem is when it starts to be more minutes of footage

Ole where do I find my timeline settings, which I assume are not the project properties?

I tried to render an intermediate file but it loses in quality and smoothness, am I getting the render settings wrong?
