I’m sorry. What I was asking is is the throughput faster by using Ichat, P2P as opposed to uploading it to a FTP? I was also thinking about streaming it through a slingbox but I was wondering what other people do to get it to the client quicker.

I looked into getting fiber optic installed through the Verizon (FIOS) but it’s not available in my area. I am also working out of my home, which is located in residential area.

    thanks,

Yes, that is exactly the answer I am looking for. I guess I’ll have to turn snapping on and off if i want the cursor at the precise edit.

    thanks,

Thanks for the info but that’s not what I was look for. I know how to zoom in and out of the timeline. I want a keyboard shortcut along with clicking my mouse that will snap the playhead to the edit point just like holding down CTRL and clicking the playhead near an edit snaps it in Avid.

There are several Pro Res Codecs. Which one should I use?

    444
    422 (HQ)
    422
    422 (Proxy)
    422 (LT)

Should the Quality of Video be at 100 %
Sound = should it be uncompressed or should I use the pass Thru setting

    Frame size = should I keep it native 720 x 480 (DV-NTSC)

Field Dominance = should I keep it upper field?

    Should I deselect the following:
    Interlaced Scaling
    Reinterlace Chroma

    thanks for your help

You should decide if you are going to use V.O. (narration) during the preproduction phase. If you decide against it, you will have to be extremely prepared in the field to ask the right questions to the interviewee. Without all of the relevant info/bites you will have gaps in your story-line and the ultimate goal should always be to progress the story.

It’s a lot harder than it seems because 9 times out of 10 you may change the direction of the story in Edit and then you realize, you needed a follow up question to make some stories connect. It’s easy to write a track line to solve this issue but wouldn’t you rather hear it in their own words.

I always love when Producers/writers state the obvious in V.O. tracks. “They ran for their lives” and on screen you are watching archive of a tornado coming at them while they run away. Does that track line make it more dramatic? Nope. Let the audience wonder if this family is going to make it out alive. It’s the WTF factor.

Just checked the clients version on their pc. It is version 5.0.3.56

there is a conflict. I’ll have to down-grade to that version.

    thanks,

    Sorry for the late response

I have a mac based system (quad core) running MC 3.0 and I checked the version of BCC I am running.

It’s BCC AVX2 (AVX 5.0.4). I haven’t been able to check their PC avids but now that I know how to get to the files, It should be easy to figure out now.

    thanks,
