Has he tried, under the wrench menu, to “clear all camera settings?”
Not sure what “overly hot” means, or whether it’s ‘overly humid”. The camera should not quit due to heat in 2 or 3 seconds, unless perhaps it was left out in the sun directly for an extended amount of time.

Team viewer would be a very inexpensive way to try what you want to do. If it works pay for the commercial version to support their excellent efforts. I’ve used it to collaborate over many years, but not for that particular function you are asking for.

The ingest preset create function appears to be in Media Encoder. I think you call the created presets in Pr. Maybe you can create them in both or they can be created for one off scenarios in Pr and multiple ingest in Encoder. There are some very interesting new capabilities of the ingest feature.

Just got the new Larry Jordan web training on the new features of Premiere, which includes new features of Media Encoder, Lumetri and Audition as well. Cost me $24 or so, runs just under 50 minutes and I watched it last night. It’s an excellent overview of all these various new features. You can download the file to your device so you can watch it anywhere without internet connectivity. Larry has always known how to get right to the point of the needs of editors. Highly recommended. I have no financial interest in the product.Al

todd’s absolutely correct that you could run standard DEF out of that 300 via the easy Product. As I mentioned on the other post, I use the easy To capture VHS tape’s. It works great. I never thought of using it in this way but it very likely would work just fine . The easy Product and Software are solid, I’ve had no complaints using it.

hi Todd just finding out about this thread now. All the answers are correct, and the one that you came up with is one that I also use to import VHS tape’s into my Mac . I never thought of using it as a webcast device since this is an input device . I didn’t think it of it as an output device, using it to input from something else and then output via streaming media. Most of the time I’m using wire cast and black magic expensive stuff but gets me high quality HDMI . Great find though ! i’ll keep that in the back of my mind for a Hat Trick some time !

While Blase has some good points, I’d be concerned that you wouldn’t be able to match the 5d or C100 (I own a 5D mkiii and C100 myself, and owned a T3i once). The Sony’s are great cameras, and I now own a GH4 from Panasonic, and a metabones adapter, but it’s not easy to match the Canon palette.
If you are looking for 4K from Canon, what about that new XC10? Or do you need it for mainly stills and a little video? It’s got a few limitations, isn’t the best all around according to the reviews, but for $1999 it seems like a great B camera. Also the new 5D is just about to be released, according to the rumor mill. It is supposed to have 4K. Not as bulky as the 1D-c? Quite a bit cheaper.

I suppose if you got a Black Magic Intensity Shuttle and fed the HDMI into it, then into your Mac or Windows machine you could use it. Sort of crazy expensive to do, but if you already had one it would likely work.

70D tascam is wonderful but it’s a bit hissy. I was comparing it just today and noticed that again. using even the mix pre-d will give you cleaner sounding audio if that is what you were after . The SD302 would be a fine addition at the price, if you find yourself needing more than two mics. A working pro will likely need more than two mics on some shoot or another during the course of a year. It’s not often that I find myself needing more than two, but it does happen especially on larger interviews. I’m lucky in that I have a sound engineer in town that I hire for those types of jobs. heck if you have two lavs, and a shotgun on a boom pole you’re already at three .
I hang my mix pre-D in a bag next to the camera, and the bright meters are much easier to watch the in camera ones .

what I meant was that you were using an XY microphone when you clearly seem to be wanting and needing a shotgun mic. that’s why you were picking up noise on your recordings from the camera. The recommendations I mentioned would be to get the Rode Mic with the Lyre mount. The rubber band mounts are very aggravating to deal with. heck, I’ll sell you mine if you want for a cheaper than new price!
