no I haven’t tried High Sierra. I have read it kills all the 32 bit apps like FC7 & iDVD.
I’m holding off for a while.

I already have DVD Studio Pro 4. It is still a great program but it doesn’t import chapter markers from Premeire.
I would have to put 40 plus markers in DVD SP. Its much easier to do when I am editing out black outs on the time line.
I have just found out High Sierra (next OS) will kill DVD Studio Pro and all the FC7 programs as well as iDVD.
I am now thinking I need to buy an old mac book with old OS to run Encore. That will solve the problem.

In the mean time I am still researching how to deliver mp4 to customers. That is our current modality, however consumers can easily duplicate or share the download link with everyone they know, so that may reduce sales to the point of not profitable.

I’m not sure what your are trying to accomplish, from your description.
are you using the text tool? Are you creating some sort of light glow or stream? what kind of background do you have?
Can you upload an image?

I give that a try. How do I enable the C4D Lite? I’m not sure what that is exactly. AE cc defaults to Classic 3d. Besides ray tracing 3d, there isn’t another option that I see.

It appears I’m having an open CL issue in Media Encoder. It has been failing with QT files.
Changing it to Software only works so far.

I would convert everything to the highest quality, least compression, codec in your settings and it should not loose quality. For instance us the ProRes 444 and adjust your frame rate to make your clips for editing.
If you upsample “or uncompress” your clips to uncompressed video for editing , there should be no loss in quality. Uncompressed video may be too taxing for your system so something like a high quality of ProRes
like ProRes HQ would still be fine. When you output you will likely deliver an recompressed format similar to where you started or even less for web output. So, go up, edit, then come back down.
The need for reencoding is only to standardize the frame rates, other wise you can edit the different formats on the same timeline with out a problem. Mixed frame rates can product image jitter.

Yes indeed. I am in day 3 of installing software form scratch on the new machine. I am cloning the drive as I go with carbon copy cloner. I started out with an apple migration and there were problems. so then I cloned my old 2012 mac to the 2015 mac and thens were better but there were problems. The Apple store tech said its best to start from scratch. I knew it would be a hassle, but its good to have a clean install.
My old mac has used 450 GB of the drive for just software and such. I’m 3/4 done installing and I’ve only used 114 GB so far. I have some content like music libraries.

Yes I have all the install disks and have installed FCP7.0

I would try exporting the sequences or footage into media encoder and change them into the frame rate you want to work with. I had a 25fps sequence with a 30fps graphic with alpha channel and got jitter from the graphic. By converting the graphic movie to the same frame rate as the sequence solved the jitter.
Start with a very short clip to test and try it out.
