Thanks guys I’ll check after the weekend. Carsten thats given me a number of things to think about.

Jeremy the deck has BNCs on its op but I use a 75-110 neutrik transformer to convert to XLR for the IO. All ops live simultaneously I believe but I’ll check that as well Carsten.

The funny thing is that although I don’t remember the details I do remember having to jump through a few (FCP) hoops getting this working with the IO. FCP was expecting embedded audio and I had to set up another Easy setup for separare EBU. Just can’t puzzle on FCS?

Okay, found it!!

Outputting with unpremultiplied alpha. I assumed that as I didn’t need the alpha channel, if I just rendered in colour instead of colour + alpha It would ignore this setting. Not so!!

No, a straight forward SD project output by file/export/QTmovie and then setting the relevent parameters.

The fade-up from black is on one of the layers, and renders perfectly to ram but not on the op file.

I’ll experiment using other QT codecs.

thanks for all your help guys – being mainly a PC man the one thing I love about Macs is this ability.

I too am VERY iffy about loading Leopard David, but as I’m always in the middle of projects that’s why I’m building this Leopard system independently of a working Tiger.

Being so new to Leopard I nothing about the time machine but that’s very interesting Matt.

Everything seems to be running very well in Leopard – I’ll have to upgrade my old Boris Red but generally it’s all be painless.

This is music to my ears David.

I’d be connecting the FW drive to the MBP, booting from it into my new (configured Leopard + Apps), holding my breath while erasing and formatting the original Tiger install on the internal drive, then CCCing Leopard over to the internal drive.

I wonder if anyone’s done this on the MBP?

What’s your experience of Twixtor Rafael? Last time I tried the demo it seemed awfully complicated.

For short sequences Motion or Shake’s optical flow looks good.
