August 27, 2010 at 12:59 am in reply to: my screen is getting out of focus with after effects

Well I´m seeing my screen horribly outta focus too. But that´s because I had an eye surgery on monday. Actually the wolrd is a bit blury now.

Anyway. I had the same issue when I bought my last monitors (2 LG 22″s). Are you connected via DVI or VGA? or something else. When I moved up from VGA to DVI and changed all the settings I could it ended up really nice.

I remember it was also a pain with my last monitor (a samsung 19′ witch I sold) but after a lot of tweaking it worked fine.

Also some months ago I went to work at a production house that had a dual video card set up and it looked awfull until I changed the connections to DVI.

    It´s just my 2 cents or maybe one….maybe none….

Hope my question will help you get a better answer from someone more qualified.

    Cheers!

  • Hi there.

If I understand you correctly you can auto-trace the texts (or bring the paths from Illustrator) and then apply the scribble effect to it. And play with the settings.

    Hope it helps.

August 24, 2010 at 2:43 pm in reply to: CS4 not updating changes

    Hi Karina.

I don´t know if it will help you but I´ll share what happened next with me.

I remember I didn´t do anything but updating and rebooting the machine a few times. And it started running well.

After some time though (between opening other heavy apps and working on them) it started again. But a simple OS reboot would fix it.

I´m not shure if it was the speed of my HD for I´m running a good solid pair of top quality HDs on RAID here separated from the OS disc (witch is reliable and fast as well). But then again maybe the heavy use might be an issue.

Thing is I upgraded to CS5 and the same thing happened after leaving the computer on all night and working the whole next day. Only this time it got back on track after the first reboot.

I guess it might have something to do with stressing the OS/hardware but I hope someone else would step up and end all our doubts.

Hope you can get it to work.

    Cheers.

August 12, 2010 at 4:36 pm in reply to: After Effects CS5 Plugin

    Hi there!

Searching the forum may bring lots of threads on that matter.

    Basically CS5 is a 64bit app and all CS4 3rd party plug-ins are 32bit.

Since they must be 64bit compatible to work on CS5 the companies had to release new versions of them all. So I´m afraid you´ll have to buy them all again.

    Cheers.

    Try Find Edges.

I don´t know how it will look in the end but the result on your exemple frame here worked fine.

Sometimes we overlook those good ol’ effects that had been missused in the “past”.

Hope I pushed you in the right direction.

    Cheers.

Since we are exploring accidents area….are the lights by any chance set to -100% on the intensity value?

    Just a thought.

Well I´m not a big fan of skining cats but here goes another way.

    This time inside photoshop.

Open your documents and go to:

    FILE>Scripts>Export Layers as Files

    And there you go.

    Cheers.

  • Hi there.

Guess this is just what you need:

I´ve been in the same situation once and it saved a lot of my time.

    Hope it helps.

    Cheers!
