Posted by Gerardo Flores on August 26, 2010 at 10:23 pm

Im using normally a old screen benQ and I thought
that the screen is killing my eyes…

tires and with my eyes really painful I decide to test a new display ( HP LP2475w )

the beginning was terrible my mac crash after connect the new display but now is quit OK

    great

    stat to work again
after add all the plugins make some testing
    and then HAAAAAAA

the screen after working in after effects some hours is getting horrible out of focus….
I thought was because is old ( the benQ one )
but before i compare the quality of both display and the new one was better ( not that much but better )

Im using a MAc 3.1 8 core with 2 ATI radeon HD 2600 20 GB ram

what can make this weird change????
what can I do for get rid of this???
the new monitor can NOT change the refresh rate just 60 Hz

did some of you notice the same or is just me 🙁

    regards

    G.

Well I´m seeing my screen horribly outta focus too. But that´s because I had an eye surgery on monday. Actually the wolrd is a bit blury now.

Anyway. I had the same issue when I bought my last monitors (2 LG 22″s). Are you connected via DVI or VGA? or something else. When I moved up from VGA to DVI and changed all the settings I could it ended up really nice.

I remember it was also a pain with my last monitor (a samsung 19′ witch I sold) but after a lot of tweaking it worked fine.

Also some months ago I went to work at a production house that had a dual video card set up and it looked awfull until I changed the connections to DVI.

    It´s just my 2 cents or maybe one….maybe none….

Hope my question will help you get a better answer from someone more qualified.

    Cheers!

Are you running the display at its native resolution (probably 1920×1200)?

    Hi Adriano

Hope you recover soon from you operation

I got both display connected by DVI and the HP with a extra cable aswell

    witch settings did you change???
just the DVI connector or something else?

do you think the graphic cards have a big role in this problem???

    regards

[Gerardo Flores] “the HP ( the new one ) is running in 1600 x 1000”

This is the problem. The native resolution for your panel is 1920×1200. Because the display has to upscale the image, it’s fuzzy.

Set the display resolution to 1920×1200 and it should be nice and sharp.
