Hi there. You might wanna try the Scale Composition script.

    Under: FILE > Scripts > Scale Composition.jsx

(I believe it comes with after effects. I have so many scripts now that I can´t really tell.)

Hope it´s what you´re looking for.

    Cheers.

October 30, 2010 at 7:47 pm in reply to: Changing circle size, whilst maintaing pixel width

It´s weird but I think I got it. Correct if I´m wrong please.

You want the circle to appear to be changing size, but actually it´s not.
i.e. you see the circle smaller and bigger but if you check the scale it´s still 100% on both moments.

    Is that it?

If it is I guess I would try something like turning the cirlce layer 3D and animating it´s Z axis. If the circle is not on the center of the main comp I would precomp it first. Put it on the center of the precomp and moving the precomp around the main comp.

Sorry if I made it more confusing but I just thought that….

    Hope it helps.

    Cheers.

October 27, 2010 at 4:59 pm in reply to: scaled text layer problem

Are the masks completly outta proportion or just the wrong size when compared to the new text?

Did you try selecting the masks and pressing CTRL+T and adjusting them?

    It might work.

    Hope it helps.

    Cheers.

October 26, 2010 at 9:22 pm in reply to: Loss of z-space when pre-composing layers

Colapse Transformations is a Checkbox on your timeline.

Right after the name of the layer there´s a little guy (to shy the layer) and right past him there´s the Collapse Transformation Switch.

Click on it and your problems should go away for what I understood from your post.

Hope it helps. Now if you want to really understand everything about it AE’s Help is a great place to start.

    Cheers.

October 12, 2010 at 8:48 pm in reply to: maya movie export, file format question

I have a feeling you posted it on the wrong forum.

What I can tell you about the exporting to play on a regular player is this: I´m a 3Dmax/AE guy and as lots of people might tell you it´s always better to render things out lossles (or at the best quality you can get) and then using something else to compress it.

I use Sorenson Squeeze (amazing soft) but it’s not close to free. I also used MPEG Streamclip witch is free and also does an amazing job.

As you didn´t mention anything on your post about adobe I don´t know if you have but Adobe Media Encoder is a great option too.

As for the dark render I can´t really say or figure out what´s going on. Posting here might help.

Hope it helps in some way.

    Cheers.

    Hi there.

Does the changes update instantly on your comp window? (don´t know if you use it since you are outputing it on a external monitor)

I´m just throwing it out there since you say it only updates when you release the pen but is the Live Update switch turned on?

    Hope it´s something that simple.

    Cheers.

Hi there. Sometimes the plugin Texturize works for me in similar situations if I´m getting what you want.

    Hope it helps.
