I don´t know much about zaxwerks but I guess the logo would be an easy task if it does not have to bend in space. You make it look 3D and then put it´s anchor point in the middle of the comp and rotate. (might work)

What do you think about this for the text:

It´s pretty easy…just requires some expressions (simple ones) and a few steps. Tell me if you fancy that and I´ll describe them for you.

    Ok……..keep going.

    You´re most welcome.

Well I´m trying here to combine some of the tecniques from Aharon and Maltaannon to make estruded text with this preset I mentioned.

    I also remembered this:

    https://library.creativecow.net/articles/langley_david/3d_ribbon_text.php

Wich maybe adjusted to use an image instead of text. But thats just a guess. I haven´t tried it yet.

Well I´m happy I was of some help.

    Again Cheers!

    Hi there Brian.

Do you want the text to have depth? Or just rotate around like this:

If it is just that you can use the 3D text preset called 3D rotate around circle. Then precomp the earth layer so it can be 3D and interact with the 3D text. After that you can also create a light on the scene and cast shadows from the text over the planet.

If you want the text to be extruded than I´m trying to find that out around here. Zax can probably do it.

    Hope I helped.

    (sorry about the poor video!)

    Cheers.

    Hi there mate.

I have here some tutorial I watched sometime ago that shows a lot about face replacement:

    https://www.tutorialized.com/view/tutorial/Face-replacement-Tutorial-tracking-a-human-face-onto-a-lizard/34140

It might give you an idea about the post prod steps.

I can think a little more tomorrow and come up with some better ideas or experiences but as soon as I read your post this tut came to my mind.

And it envolves a live animal so it must be really harder than your case.

Hope I at least turned the bed lamp on and somebody can open the window for you………..so the light shall come in….

    All the best.

    Cheers.

December 18, 2008 at 4:47 pm in reply to: MAD 1.2/0.9 problem on rendering

Thanx for the answer dave. I´ll try the authoring tip but I think it won´t work.

I´m not just seeing it squeezed. I look up the project window when I select the footage and the info tells me that. And even worse the end result is also “fielded”. (lower first)

I´m really going nuts. Trying to render it on another PC now. Hope it works.

    Well I´ll keep on going.

    Thanx again Dave.

    Cheers.

And Where in final cut are you seeing it? Laptop screen? LCD monitor?
    External monitor?

    And what´s the final media?

    Cheers.

That´s a difficult one. Maybe I know a guy that can help you:

    contact him at: satan@hell.com

Bad thing is he charges souls.

    Sorry ’bout the horrible joke.

I don´t know how bad your green screen is but maybe if you could duplicate de layer then make the image black and white and level it up (by that I mean useing levels or curves and crushing everything) to a point where you have the green screen all black or all white and then put it over the origianl and use it as a mate. But this also needs some keyframeing. And can be a bit of a pain.

But I must say: There´s nothing worse to deal with then bad key.

Wish you luck on that one.

    Cheers.

Something came to my mind after I hit post.

You can simply select all and go keyframe assistent>sequence layers and on the dialog box where it says transition chose dissolve front layer.

Some adjustments and you´re good to go.

    Easier that way ain´t it?

    Did it work?

    Cheers.

Well I would put all the layers in the begginin’ of the comp.

    Hit CTRL+A to select all.

Hit ALT+SHIFT+T to add a opacity keyframe. Hold ALT+SHIFT and hit the right arrow key 6 times to move those KFs 2 seconds ahead. Set another keyframe at the beggining, this time changing it´s value to 0%.

Then go to the end of the layers. Hit ALT+SHIFT+T to add a opacity keyframe. Hold ALT+SHIFT and hit the left key arrow 6 times to move those KFs 2 seconds back. Again set another keyframe at end, this time changing it´s value to 0%.

Then right click any layer and chose keyframe assistent>sequence layers

Then chose the right ovelap value.

It´s the easyest way I can think of and I do it all the time. If the clips are of different lenghts you can go to the last one and hit CTRL+A then ] to align them all at the end before setting the out opacity values. Then back to the beggining and hitting [.

Act like a robot and it all will come out nicelly.

Hope I was of some help.

    Cheers.
