    Following your advice : )

    Thanks!

  • Hi Eric,
Okay, I see what you’re doing. It’s not exactly what I mean though.
You’re still referring to effects that are applied to an individual clip on the timeline, not a track.
If you go to Window>Audio Track Mixer – you can apply effects to entire tracks, which is supposed to be like a “send” in audio mixing. This effect will apply to any audio placed on that specific track.

In Sony Vegas for example you can apply effects with keyframes to individual clips and also to entire tracks. And you can easily duplicate tracks. I was just looking for something similar here in Premiere.

To achieve this with the technique you’re referring to, you would need to apply the specific effects individually to each clip on the track one by one. Then copy paste the keyframes to each track one by one. I was looking for something much faster and simpler. If this indeed is lacking in Premiere, it’s pretty astonishing. Seems like really basic stuff for a video editing suite.

  • [Eric Santiago] “Not sure but am I missing something that you’re having issues with?”

I think you’re copying effects from clip to clip.
I’m talking about copying effects from track to track, or alternatively duplicating a track along with all it’s applied effects and attributes.

  • Hi Todd,
I’m not sure how you’re able to select effects, let alone select multiple effects.

Let’s say I have audio on track A1
In the Audio Track Mixer I add a Graphic Equalizer, a Multitap Delay and a Hard Limiter. I then adjust each effect to achieve my desired sound for that track.
Now I want to add another audio clip to track A2 and I want A2 to have the same effects with the same settings as what I applied to track A1.
How are you copy and pasting the effects? From the Audio Track Mixer or from somewhere else?

  • Hi. Never mind. I figured it out. Silly me. Forgot I could have both versions installed
    ????

  • Thanks John!
I wish there was a way to just filter the clips in the project panel, but your method works. Thanks again : )

@John Pale, got it, thanks.. I’ll try it.
Theoretically speaking, could I clear media cache through Premiere Pro Preferences panel as long as I don’t have the specific project open?

    Hi.

Is your USB audio interface getting enough juice from the USB? Have you tried testing it with integrated audio?

It’s connected via powered USB hub. It should be fine. For sake of sanity, I tried connecting directly to the computer and the problem still persisted.

Delete the Media Cache, reboot and let it rebuild. Do it at the desktop level, not in the Premiere settings

Do you mean that I should identify the folders as indicated in the screenshot below, then close Premiere Pro, find those folders on my D: drive and delete their contents?

I just want to make sure, because I’m not entirely sure what that would do.
Is there any way I could screw something up by doing this?
Should I back those files up just in case?
    Thanks!

I’ll also add that I recently chatted with Adobe Premiere online chat support.
The support rep wrote me to try the following:
Please Press windows + R key and then type appdata then roaming folder-> adobe-> premiere pro-> rename premiere pro as premiere pro.old

Go to: documents-> adobe-> premiere pro-> rename premiere pro to premiere pro.old

I did those steps. The static sound is still present, but slightly improved. Hard to tell if the slight improvement is related to the steps recommended by Adobe support

Thanks for the quick reply Dave!

Have more than enough storage space.

The video is ProRES 442 in a Quicktime wrapper (120 Mb/s) shot on a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera.
The audio is PCM WAV files recorded on a Zoom H4n digital recorder.

I honestly don’t recall if the OS has updated or not. It’s likely. I’ve been working on this project for months.
But I definitely did not update the OS while working on this particular sequence that suddenly started giving me this issue.
