February 26, 2014 at 6:23 pm in reply to: Google Reunion TV Ad (Viral) — How did they Shoot it?Hello Todd,
Thank you for your input. Yes, I had a feeling it would be an ARRI.. the visuals are just superb.
That’s amazing – that your friend has the uncanny ability to single out the model (let alone the make) of a microphone, simply by listening to it!

Thank you, Gentlemen, for those VERY helpful tips. I was able to attain quite a decent sound with the voiceover, but not good enough for the documentary I was to include it in. So I left it to the professionals and hired some excellent VO talent to do the job.
But those tips really helped guys (Ty, Bob and Theodore). Thank you.
@Andy Balla, I totally agree. I see that cut and paste editing in interviews of MAJOR networks here in Canada… (usually it’s when they cut out the “umms” and “uhhs” in the interview during cutaways, thinking no one will notice… but it’s very audible and annoying indeed.

Hi Abhimonyu,
That actually does help! That means, it’s probably my system.
Regardless, I returned the TASCAM and got a CakeWalk (Roland) interface. Loving it!

Thanks Ty and merci JC.
I have tried all of those drivers (32 Bit XP drivers) and it still says installation failed.
I do click “remove previous drivers” options on the installer before installing the new ones.
Oh, and it also doesn’t work on other Windows XP pc’s. Just works on Vista laptop.
TASCAM (teac corporation) hasn’t responded to my help request yet, although it said “within 48 hours”.
Am I doing something wrong?

1. Download the Sony Vegas Pro 10.0c demo Sony Creative Software downloads
to see if that will work problem-free on your system.2. Try installing it on another computer if you can, that will eliminate any hardware issues.

Mr. Schroeder,
I just tried that technique, and it worked very well!
For the glint to appear off-center (denoting an off-camera light source), I am playing around with the Cookie cutter effect.
Thank you Jeff for the expert insight!
Cheers,

Bingo!
Thanks John, that perfectly answers my question.

That’s right, actually that’s another thing, in VLC I have to do the Deinterlace filter EACH time. I’ve reset preferences many times and also set it under Options>Video>Filter, etc.
Anyway, my problem is how can I send this video to Clients who don’t know much about VLC/Deinterlace? I just want them to be able download the .Mpeg file or pop the DVD and watch it on their computer, without them getting upset about the video quality…because it is interlacing.

Hi John Rofrano,
I’ve been searching this forum for a while, and your following statement comes the closest to answering my question.
John Rofrano wrote: To get the highest quality you should deliver in the same format that you shot. If you shot 1440×1080-60i then you should deliver 1440×1080-60i.
I have Sony Vegas 8.0, For shooting video, I use the Sony FX7 and Sony V1U Cameras, 1440×1080-60i.
I use “HDV capture” to capture them to Sony Vegas 8.0, My project settings are “HDV 1080-60i”, 29.970 (NTSC).
Then I edit the clips, and render out the default “MPEG-2 HDV 1080-60i” setting, and it renders into .M2T files.
Then I watch them on VLC or Windows Media Player.
They are horribly interlaced.
What am I doing wrong?
Specs:
Sony Vegas Pro 8
Sony V1U, Sony FX7
Windows XP
Acer 32″ TV (DVI compatible, connected through DVI).Your help would solve a MAJOR hurdle for me!

January 14, 2011 at 11:05 pm in reply to: Video Archiving Software… or Stock Video clip browser, like Juicer, etc.Hi Mike,
Thanks for that great suggestion. I think that’s what I need.
I do have Sony Vegas Pro 8, but it was not there. So I downloaded it (Sony Media Manager 2.4) from Sony’s Website (its a free download) but it hangs during installation. At “Initializing Database Service” popup. Grrh. (I have ALL windows/apps closed).
I killed the setup, and now my Sony Vegas Pro 8.0 hangs, but works again when I uninstall the Media Manager.
Any suggestions? :S For this, or any other software.
