    Hello fellow Sony Vegans,

So I saw this music video and I really want to know how I can recreate this ‘golden tint’ effect in post in Sony Vegas 9.

I’m not even sure what its called. This example may be from production stages, but I would like to do it in post.

I do have Magic Bullets HD but it doesn’t have any quite the same effect.

    Your expertise will be appreciated!

    Cheers,
    Adam.

    Adam,

First I would duplicate the track . On the above copy blow out the whites by using levels (input end .5). Then add a Gaussian blur (H&V @0.1). Then drop the opacity of the track or event to around 35%.
Insert a track between the two and add a solid color generated media. The color is R200,G200,B0,A50 (as close as I can come to gold).

Play with all the settings. BTW, if you add these FX at the track level it will work for all the pics on those tracks.

    Mr. Schroeder,

I just tried that technique, and it worked very well!

For the glint to appear off-center (denoting an off-camera light source), I am playing around with the Cookie cutter effect.

Thank you Jeff for the expert insight!

    Cheers,
    Adam.
