    Two questions…

    1. What is the Jim Giberti technique?

    2. What do you mean when you say a 50/50 compressor setting for audio?

    Thanks 🙂

I’ve had this problem too and have not been able to find a solution. I don’t know what triggers it, but I’ve had it happen in two projects so far. Once back in 10.0.1 and once in 10.0.3. I’d be very interested to hear a solution (if there is one).

I also had a GTX 285. It’s definitely the card. I put an ATI Radeon 5770 1GB and it solved all the sluggishness. It’s definitely frustrating but the new ATI card did the trick! Hope that helps

  • Okay, for anyone else that runs into this, I seemed to have found a fix. I exported an XML for one of my events and then reimported the XML into FCPX. The new imported XML event had stabilization back for all my clips! After that, I deleted the old event, and all my other events seemed to have been fixed after doing this. Glad it worked out!!

  • None of those things did the trick 🙁

Any other suggestions? Anyone? Thanks for any help!

Here’s a quick work around that I use. If your clip is in the primary storyline, just select the clip, hit Command, Option, Up Arrow to temporarily move it up as a connected clip. Then adjust your retiming and correct duration that you want so it fits back in your primary storyline the way that you want it. When you’re ready just hit Command, Option, Down Arrow to move it back down to the primary storyline. It’s a pretty fast way to do it without screwing up the timeline. If any one knows of another way, I’d like to know too. Hope that helped!
