I always thought the “P” in 24P, 30P, etc. was different from the “P” in 1080P and 720P. I thought it had something to do with the number of lines of resolution but I just did a little reading and I guess that’s not true. I think I just learned something, but somehow I’m even more confused…but I’ll stop there since this forum isn’t about Ps and Is.
Thanks for the info about the 1080P Jeremy, I guess that answers one of my questions! Anyone else know anything about the next generation HVX?

Available now? On what? I thought the 200 went up to 1080i. That’s what the Panasonic website says. I’m either out of the loop or someone is lying to me! 🙂

Cineform makes a nice plug in that converts it to AVI with lots of nice options. I used it with P2 video and had no trouble at all.

When you’re in the capture window do everything as you normally would for setting in and out points, naming clips, etc. Instead of hitting “Capture” hit “Log Clip” and an offline file will be placed in your bin. After you’ve logged the whole tape you can go to your bin, select the clips you want to digitize, hit “Batch Capture” and walk away.

The method I always used for letterboxing 4:3 video was to apply the “Clip” effect from the Transform folder. The most efficient way to do it for me was to edit everything in 4:3 and then nest that sequence in a new sequence where I then only had to applly the effect once. I hope that makes sense. That method always looked clean.
