Batch capturing in Premiere Pro 2
I hope this is not a silly question but I have copied down the instructions for “Batch capture” of my video clips.
Nowhere can I find if I need to click on the RED capture button for each clip I’m
when I building up a series of clips,
After closing the capture window and going to the project window and clicking on “Batch Capture” I don’t see any clips there (offline or otherwise)
I have other previous clips in there recorded in the normal way (Not Batch capturing) which leads me to believe i’m missing out a step and I was wondering if I need to click on the “capture” button after setting the in and out points of each clip.
If this is so and I’m sure it can’t be- what is the advantage of batch capture over the normal method -

When you’re in the capture window do everything as you normally would for setting in and out points, naming clips, etc. Instead of hitting “Capture” hit “Log Clip” and an offline file will be placed in your bin. After you’ve logged the whole tape you can go to your bin, select the clips you want to digitize, hit “Batch Capture” and walk away.

Thanks Fisch, everything is working just the way you say- my problem seems to be with either mu computer or something. I closed prem pro down and then reopened it and the files were there now (as offline) Before I closed PP they weren’t there and I couldn’t click on “Batch Capture) it was grayed in the menu. After closing and re-opening P/Pro all the offline files were there and “Batch Capture” was not Grayed anymore and it did it’s rewind and captured the files and converted them form offling to captured ready to edit.
I’m not sure why I had to close P/Pro to accomplish this any ideas? I have 1 GIG of RAM and a reasonably fast computer an Athlon AMD 64 2800+ and a Nvdia GeForce6600 AGP video card 256mem -
I’m afraid I’ve never seen that problem. Maybe someone else here knows the answer…
