Man this truly sucks. No way to use this professionally. How am I going to color grade my project in Resolve or even Color? How am I going to mix my audio? How do I handle composting shots that need to be sent to Nuke?

I think there’s not a lot to complain at this point. All the so called “Hi-end” pros that are complaining are just afraid of competition and afraid that the little man will now have the same tools. So the “hi-end” people will maybe switch to Avid (now that they can because Avid HAD to bring their prices down because of Apple) and try to spread rumors that FCP is no longer professional so they can differentiate themselves from the “little-man”. They will spit on the same plate they ate not long ago when they couldn’t afford Avid and FCP offered them an option even when all the Avid guys were saying FCP wasn’t professional. Fear is a bitch.
But it will not last long. Once FCPX is out is will take the market by storm again and the naysayers will have to adjust and so will Avid and history will repeat itself.

There are only 2 problems with your theory. 🙂
1) People who already use Color (which is “free”) and already have all or most of the color grading gear and also a BM card wont need to buy it again (my case. I already even have a BM card).
2) Color grading is normally done AFTER VFX is finished.

First of all they actually showed transitions on the demo.
Second, I think they just didn’t have enough time to show more and wanted to show the NEW stuff and the flashy stuff at that.
Apple was never known for missing release dates. It’s not RED we are talking about here.
Surely it will have bugs. ALL new software do and surely did FCP7. But to think Apple announced it too early is honestly a foolish thought. They probably have been working on this since FCP6, reason FCS 3 was so lack luster and cheaper and not even called FSC 3. They knew it was just a matter of time. I’m sure they were not early at all. They had it well planned.
