this is a video project which i’m cutting on final cut pro. the project is 90 minutes long, and the source footage is captured by tape in 40 minute segments. i have 10 hours of footage from which i have cut my final programme.

i’ve forced the player to display 16×9 using quicktime pro but be grateful if anyone had any ideas about how to avoid this second step…

did you get a fix for this? am having some of the same issues and cannot solve them.

thanks for this comprehensive list which is now saved in my ‘first aid’ folder. it turned out that i had accidentally (no idea how as i wasn’t using this tab) set the ‘wireframe’ tab on. eeek! very nasty two hours trying and checking everything until i discovered what it was.

that is exactly what it was. no idea how i re-set it but after a very jumpy and anxious two hours of running through every possible option – including praying and switching on and off and hoping – it turned out to be the ‘wireframe’ tab. very nasty moment. thanks for letting me feel better. i’m not the only one!

with about 200 captions to do live type was too much work, although it works fine. ended up buying the font from the web and installing it and it works fine. (well as fine as the feeble fcp text tool allows…!)
