There are no hard fast rules with CC, if it adds to what you are trying to convey, it works.

If your image sensor is around 35mm, a 35mm at F4 will give you a soft background. Be careful shooting to wide open, as your DoF gets so small that you risk a lot of soft shots to cut around. Hand held large sensor shooting is generally best with an AC pulling focus, as most cameras prosumer suck at smooth follow focus. Also shooting WFO, most lens will soften up, that is why most DPs shoot around 4 or above. That is not to say you do not want a T2 lens to starter with, as the faster lens generally means better construction.

Instead of making one look like the other, make both closer each other. Use the cut away angle to cover the focus issues, this might require you to make use of this other angle more throughout in order to not look so obvious. This is the art in video making.

Blazer offered a good on video to color correction that is easy to follow.

You might search youtube on CC shot angles.

If you post stills on both shot angles, some would help you I am sure with what is possible.

If it worked a few days ago, have you restarted, or run all Windows updates?

Guys. I can understand peoples hatred of the new, and the new UI. However your issues may be announcing your own inadequacies of working in windows. I have run Vegas with Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, and now Win10, without the issues I have seen posted here. There really is nothing that much different between Win8.1 and 10, and Vegas 13 is stable on 10.

A lot of people want to hail the issues and problems of the new, but this is doing a disservice to others that will read this, and shy away. This problem seems like an issue of where you got this machine, what garbage it came loaded with, and what else has been attempted to try and remedy the problem.

Have you tried Malware-bytes or utilities to see if there is a problem?

CCleaner and rebooting twice to move good registry to last know good? Sounds like you have attempted to restore your machine a couple times, I am not a fan of this.

MS windows Disksweeper advanced, and clear out all old MS update files, and old windows installations, then reboot 2x. Then verify windows update is detecting no further updates.

Personally I would update your bios, reinstall Win8.1 or win10, run full windows updates, download a clean copy of Vegas 13 B453, and try it again. I would find it hard to believe that this will not solve the problem.

I have to agree with Steve. What are you trying to do, and display to?

VLC player, and rendering your footage to .MXF – DV profile would be the way to display in DV. If DV is what you need to display in. You can also do .AVI – DV profile, its all the same.

GoPros are HD, so converting your footage to .MXF – XDCAM-EX profile would be the most responsive way to edit that material in Vegas.

Bob. That was clearly a typo. Sorry about that. On my system certain driver manufacturers published Win10 upgrades, and others simply changed the text on their site from Win8.1 support to include Win10.

The Default Win10 drivers should work very well in most cases, even on older systems. In all the insider preview builds tested, I only saw certain things like card readers, and special laptop buttons not supported but the defaults.

Bob has a good point. The poster might want to give Movie Studio or VP13 trial a try. Movie Studio is probably more full featured and supports the latest technologies than VP8.
