  • Thanks I will give that a shot. Does it appear to be a corrupted scene file to you? Just wondering if it’s some kind of pilot error so i don’t do it again!

  • Hi George,

    Here’s a link to a screen recording:

    https://youtu.be/LjBDUiAy5yc

I start by showing the property I am animating which is a bend deformer rolling out the tongue. Then I set the keyframe positions and show how the first keyframe position changes to the same as the second keyframe once that is added and there is no movement. I then show the F curve where you can see the values are different but have no effect on the deformers position.

I then delete everything and animate the position of a square in the same project to the same effect. Lastly, I hop over to a new project where I have copied the tongue and here the animation of the bend deformers position works fine.

Thanks for taking a look at it. Hopefully all of that makes sense!

Thank you Glenn and Ann for the feedback. Went ahead and took the extra time and steps to transcode to mxf and all is well.

Thanks Herb. We are sticking with prores proxy QT mov for this project however. We will probably go with 1280×720 even though the file sizes will be bigger.

Mainly just trying to solve the riddle of how Premiere gets the 1024×540 to look right when doing it all in Premiere. The preset is located here if anyone else wants to try it out.

    Hi Chris,
What I am trying to figure out is why the “Prores low resolution proxy” preset within Premiere kicks out a 1024×540 file that still looks correct in a 1920×1080 timeline when proxy mode is engaged but the same specs done within media encoder, kick out a file with black bars on the side.

  • Looks like my user profile had indeed become corrupted. Made a new profile and problem solved. Thank you!

That makes sense. Thanks so much for taking the time to elaborate!

    Ah ok, thanks Shane!

Just out of curiosity, how do you check to make sure you haven’t over done it when scaling an image up with this workflow? The 6K is the master (two camera musical performance) and I’ll be cutting in as much as I can get away with for some shots. Do you just check it in the final conform when you go to finishing?
