Oh, okay. I think I see what you mean. I will read the link you sent me and maybe that will help as well.
My email address is AaronMetchik@aol.com. Thanks again. I might write you again after I try to use it if I can’t figure it out 🙂

Hi Nick,
Thanks so much for your response. I can imagine how both of those techniques work although I agree with you that they are unfortunately each a bit inconvenient, so I am very excited to hear that there are macros available with make it possible to copy and past markers more easily, especially since, as it turns out, I do name all of my markers. .
I am a little embarrassed to admit though, that I am not familiar with what a “macro” is.
I would definitely be interested in the one you offered to send me (Is this the same one you mentioned in the beginning of your email?) and if you wouldn’t mind, if you could give me a basic lesson on how to use it to copy and past markers from one clip to another using the macro, and if it’s necessary, how to install and begin to use a “macro” in the first place, I would be very thankful.
I have only been editing for about six months. I’m learning new things everyday and it sounds like this could have a very positive impact on my workflow. Thanks again for the options you’ve already given to me, and I look forward to hearing from you again.

Hi Christian,
My name is Aaron, I saw a response to a posting on creativecow.com in the fcp forum and it looks like you know a lot about the multiclip function in fcp 6. I am a fairly new user, am having some problems with the function, and was hoping you might help me with a very brief workflow of how to accomplish this basic task…
Take two clips from a two camera shoot and an audio track recorded to a separate device (with unmatching timecode so I have been syncing by the slate) and create a working multiclip.
Do you sync and merge the audio track with both video clips individually, then create a multiclip? Sync audio with only one video track, then create a multiclip?
At what point do you assign the “angle” to each clip? After it’s been synched/merged with the audio clip or before? Or both? Every way I try it I seem to have some problem, either with losing sync or with not being allowed to drag my audio into the timeline. I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong and thought you might be able to help. If you have a moment, I sure would appreciate it. I’m pretty familiar with the terminology, so a very quick outline of the workflow would do the trick I think. Hope you can help. And thanks for reading.

October 2, 2007 at 3:15 pm in reply to: Video File Names Lost when capturing audio and video to seperate scratch disksHi David. I have to admit I am kind of new to this. I was told to use that option, which is under system settings, by a post sup I hired as consultant. Supposedly it would ease the burden on the disk with all the video on it and easily allow me to get rid of the reference audio on the tape once3 I captured the audio from the Dat. Does that workflow have known issues? Should I definitely have done it the other way?

I am having a very similar problem. After shutting down FCP 6 and reopening the project, ALL of my media appears offline. I am using a Kona 3 card and captured my audio and video onto separate harddrives in a Burly port multiplier. I’m fearing that I am going to have to manually reconnect them all. I have been looking all day for answers to why this is happening. I’m going to try to find the article the previous poster wrote about. If I find anything, I’ll definitely let you know and please do the same for me.
P.S. I’m not sure if our two problems are related, but if so, it might help to know that my problem began when I was still using FCP 6 without the upgrade.
