You cannot launch Encore from Premiere Pro.

Considering the DVD is unencrypted, just copy and paste the files from the DVD to your harddrive. And rename the VOB files to MPEG. Once you do that, import the MPEG files into Encore.

Are you using Encore 2.0 or Encore 1.x? Also, do you have any other Adobe apps running in the background?

What are your keylight settings for the different variables. If I am not mistaken, there is an option to smoothen out the edges.

Have you tried re-installing the font? Does the font show up in any other application?

Try using Cineform AspectHD. You can download a trial version from https://www.cineform.com -
I am not in front of my system, but I believe if you unlink the audio and the video, you should be able to trim the video only.

To get the copyright symbol:
Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Character Map > (select copyright symbol –> copy –> paste in titler)
