Randy,
Premiere Pro doesn’t work over the network and hence the problems.

I would not recommend using Auto Color, because it doesn’t always work.
Coming to your problem:
a) What type of footage are you using? DV? HDV?
b) Project settings?
c) Computer specs?Aanarav Sareen

How frequently does this occur? Do the clips that face these problems have anything in common? (duration?)

We need a little more info:
a) Are you capturing within Premiere Pro?
b) Do you have any other hardware or software that interacts with Premiere Pro (Cineform or Matrox?)
c) What are your project settings?– Aanarav

Here is what I do:
a) Edit as required in PPRO 2.0
b) Export as an AVI file from the HDV project (File > Export > Movie)
c) Create a new project with the SD dimensions
d) In the SD project, File > Export > AME or Export to DVD– Aanarav

[cbogard] “1.) I am uncertain why the dual processor is specified as “non-HT”. Doesn’t PPro utilize HT?”
I am not 100% certain, but I believe that since you have a dual processor, HT isn’t needed. Hyper-threading merely fooled PPRO into thinking that there were multiple processors.
[cbogard] “2.) Should I stick with Windows XP or is the provided VISTA home OK?”
Vista won’t work. You NEED Windows XP.
[cbogard] “3.) I can upgrade to nVidia GeForece 7600GT 256MB DDR2DualDVITV for $79. Should I/or should I go for an even higher end video card?”
Version 1.5 doesn’t benefit from any additional video card memory or features. So, what you have is good enough.
[cbogard] “4.) Should I add a sound card or just rely on the sound from the motherboard?”
I would definitely suggest that you look for an external sound card.
[cbogard] “5.) Is it worth $220 to go to 4GB memory?”
No. Windows XP only utilizes 2gbs of memory (unless you have the 3gb switch active. But, its not worth it)
