A watermark can be created by making the logo in photoshop on a transparent background (in RGB mode).

Simply leave everything transparents except where you want the logo (have the image) and insert this into the timeline above all the other video tracks. I do this all the time to stamp our videos.

well, i mean it still is easy to edit, all my clips are still in the timeline. It was just easier in a previous version of premiere as for whatever your format was (Microsoft DV AVI, Mpeg, WMV) there was an audio option for stereo / mono.

We need it since we are streaming these videos on our website, and other reasons that i dont really need to explain…

I completly understand your thinking.

I did quite a bit of reading and since the cineform medium has to work on everything as its playing it makes sense that all the OS and program files need to be on the same volume. I guess its just too much for the system to handle, trying to move all that information across at near realtime speeds.

I will let you know how this turns out, but i think this is a good path to start on. I will just reinstall premiere on the OS volume and see if that helps.

Yes i know it is a silly setup, but the way DELL configured their onboard SATA controller is that it HAS to be the primary drive with the OS. My computer was not configured that way so i had to buy a SATA controller, and since i was already buying one, why not get one with RAID ability for down the road.

I am going to reload windows on a spare drive that i have with just premiere loaded, to see if this takes care of the problem. It could be conflicting with another program.

I have been editing Regular DV footage with permiere on a non-OS volume without any problems so i am hesitant to believe that is the issue.

Hmm more information:

Pentium 4HT 3.0 Ghz
1Gig Ram – I have another Gig of ram on order that is coming in today or tomorrow
SATA 200 GB on a RAID controller. This drive is brand new and empty. (premiere is installed on this volume).

Windows XP is on a seperate drive.

I have no problem playing and editing regular DV footage. I am new to HD and have just started to work with it. Capturing the clip appears to go just fine, premiere transcodes everything pretty quickly too. Its just on playback where everything breaks down.

Basically i import the clip that i captured and let it play on the clip monitor. It runs ok for about 5 seconds, then the video jumps, then stops all the while the audio is still going. The Premiere just crashes, and i cant even close the window or anything.

Is it possible that i captured the clip on the wrong settings for he project and that is breaking it on playback?

The camera is a Sony HVR-A1U shooting in 1080i (i believe 29.97 FPS), I am using the project HD setting of 1080i at 1440 x ??? at 29.97.

Thats all i can think of at the moment… hopefully this helps? I might be reinstalling windows on a test hard drive that i have and loading ONLY premiere onto that drive and trying to get this to work again…. im out of ideas.

I will give this a shot when i get home from work. The Denoiser interface is not very intuitive and adobe help doesn’t have much information documented on how to actually USE this feature. It just describes what the options are for…

Any other suggestions?

I eventually figured out how to do it.
It required copying the image i wanted to use onto the clipboard first, and having the image i was going to watermark highlighted before starting to record the animation.
