Well because you only have FCE you are a little limited with out compressor. The easy way would be to pull your outputted full res file into the new iMove and publish to a video gallery. This gives the option for multiple sizes, and you can let the viewer decide what size they want to watch.

HDV must be printed to tape, you can’t just play it put like DV it must conform first because of the GOP structure.

H.264 is not an editing format. it is a delivery format only because of the high level of compression.

it could be the way that you paid them in the computer, or it could be the slots that you have put them in.

If the issue douse not happen with all the memory in (in the same slots as before) and with the Kona card removed then it is the Kona Card. If it happens without the Kona card then it is ether the pairing of the ram or the ran slots.

Well anything will be a HUGE step up from windows movie maker.

First don’t base your decision off of the way the computer looks, base it off of what it can do.

Personally I only use mac and Final cut, I have used premiere on windows several years ago, but dumped that for mac after windows would whack out every 20 min. After moving to the mac I just fell in love the the Apples production suite, and found it MUCH easier then any windows software I have ever used. The work great together and frankly found that I could get much better and more professional results from Final Cut and DVD Studio.

I think that many people who stick with Adobe and windows only do so because they are mostly looking at price. Sure you can get a cheep PC and many windows graphics cards come with a free copy of premiere, but I have always been of the opinion that you get what you pay for, spend a little more on a good mac and Final cut studio and a whole new world opens up to you.

Compressor will give you good results just use the presets. Unfortunately nothing will be all that fast.

Your graphics card douse meat the requirements, any time you are thinking of upgrading you should always check.

None of the disks are dual sided, some of them are dual layered though.

I don’t see how a drive could not work with a two sided DVD, each side of the disk is completely separate.

And any DVD drive can read a dual layer disk. If the drive is having a problem, then you should have it looked at.
