Would be great of Resolve and Adobe CC used the same version of Cuda
Posted by Robert Ruffo on April 5, 2014 at 12:41 amNow, in Mac, one must install older versions of Cuda for Resolve to be stable, then switch back for latest release of Adobe to be stable. It makes quick switching between software on Mac impossible.

April 5, 2014 at 1:38 amWhen you use NVIDIA GPUs, you can use latest version of CUDA, 5.5.47 currently.
You only need to use 5.5.28 when using AMD GPUs like on the 2013 Mac Pro. This will be handled better moving forward, but this is required for now.

April 5, 2014 at 4:50 pmreason I ask is I’m on a 2012 mac pro 12 core
os 10.9.2
Resolve 10.1.3
I have a GT 650 in my mac as gui
in my cubix I have two AMD Radeon R9 280x 6GB
I am on CUDA driver 5.5.47 (gpu 8.24.9.310.40.25f01)
and it seems to be running fine – is the 5.5.28 issue only with 2013 mac pros?
I thought the 280x were similar to the D700?http://www.filmandtvcolor.com | colorist | Los Angeles, CA

April 5, 2014 at 6:18 pmThe issue happens when you have a system with only AMD GPUs, i.e. No CUDA capable GPUs

April 12, 2014 at 2:33 amRohit, great talking at NAB. Forgot to ask you… Since I’m now using AMD cards in my cubix, would it make sense to change out my GUI card to AMD too? I’m on Mac.
