Beta testing non Apple software does not mean you have control over what Apple will do.

Somehow I don’t think that the lack of your wishes in FCS3 is going to cause that.

I find this post or thread as well as many other post to be very odd. Why wouldn’t you folks expect Blu-Ray? I admit you can find another solution but shouldn’t FCS offer Blu-Ray?
What if there were no other otions for Blu-Ray. Pretend CS4, Vegas and DoStudio did not exist. It is 2009 not 1999. HD is indeed here to stay.

Because Steve Jobs and others at Apple have been very clear about this from the beginning. Why would you expect a full BluRay solution from Apple when they have been very clear about the fact that they do not fully intend to support a BluRay authoring solutions?

I guess I’m tired of all the whining for the past two years about when is Apple going to support BluRay authoring. Hopefully they’ll never fully support true professional authoring because that plays into our strategy very nicely. Clients asked about BluRay 24 months ago and we’ve been delivering fully authored discs ever since….

What can I say Walter? If it work use it.
I myself made the switch from Edius to CS4. I wanted the integration of the Adobe products. Edius is a great program but it can not compete with the CS4 package. I am not sure most editors will share in your point of view about using DoStudio. I guess the sales of FCS will tell the complete story. Comparing FCS at $999.99 to the CS4 Production Premium is not a fair comparison if you must buy more software.

“It’s also not fair for Adobe to promote Encore as a BluRay authoring solution when it fails miserably at anything other than extremely basic, play only, type of authoring. CS3 was awful and the CS4 version is only marginally better. So right now, professional BluRay Authoring is not something that is different about the two, looks like what Apple has instituted with Compressor and BluRay is on-par, if not better, than what you can accomplish with Encore in the real world. In the “marketing world” Encore is a pro BluRay tool, but in reality it’s nowhere close to ready for prime time when it comes to BluRay.
