Can’t figure this out… just trying to do a simple ‘flip’ of a playing card and show the backside as a different image than the frontside. What is the best way to do this without 3d software?

Obviously, rotating the card can be done multiple ways, but I fail to see where you can specify a ‘backside’ image to the card. I’ve gone throiu gh all the cycore plug-ins and AE plug-ins as well as searched this forum. I’m using AE 6.5 pro. It can’t be this hard – I must be having a brain-fart!

    thanks very much!

Create the two seperate images as two seperate layers … activate the 3d opption, the little box icon on each layer.line all the postion values up to match exactly. Then, make an adjustment of one pixel in the ‘Z’ position. Now one layer is “behind” the other in the 2.5 D area. Next create a null layer under new layers menu, in your comp pull down menu. Parent each of the two original layers to the null layer. Now rotate the null as you wish to rotate the card…

    *quicker easier more suductive..*
((If you don’t feel like futsing around with a NULL, though I highly recomend learning all you can of them. . . the other option is to Pre-comp the seperate layers into one layer and then activate 3-D for the precomp. . . once Precomped scale the new layer to the size you want the card and rotate.))

Hi there, i have managed to create the 3D spinning card but am confused as to how to get the parent option up, i had to open another file with them already on so i could use this….. an airy fairy way of doing it i know but it stumped me. Also i am unsure as to how to render it out without transparency… could you help me at all please…..
    Kind regards
