    Hi,

I’m working on a client’s setup which is basically MC 3.0 running on a 24in imac with extra 24in LCD to give a dual desktop. We’re working in the UK but the exec producer is in the US.

She’d like to be able to screen cuts ‘live’ with us via ichat or skype and apparently has done this with other producers in the States. As I understand it ichat or skype will accept firewire input instead of the camera as an input. So my plan would be to send the FW AVID output of the imac to the client’s MacBook Pro which is running the ichat/skype software. I can get the output to show up on a DV camera but not when I connect the two macs. Presumably because the MBP isn’t appearing as a camera or deck would.

    Any suggestions?

    Cheers,
    rob

I’ve never done it myself, but I know people have used a sling box
    for that kind of setup.
