i just found out that Fox in NY just bought 10 seats of CS4 on 8 core PCs, because they were told FCP 7 is never gonna happen. (main reason they went ahead was to take advantage of 64bit OS)

are there any rumors surrounding the future of FCP? I just went through this with the AVID DS, so I’m pretty wary of rumors of edit system demises…

    Joe,

I heard a rumor that Steve Jobs read the first article in my series for the Cow on CS4 and he immediately suspended all Pro Apps development. Then the people at Fox in New York read my article causing them to immediately order the seven CS4 systems you mentioned.

The latest rumor is that the vice presidential debate, and possibly the entire election, may be postponed indefinitely while the impact of my article and CS4 are being evaluated for their potential to possibly help stave off the world financial crisis and global warming.

My suggestion is to suspend all editing immediately while you evaluate the these and other rumors for authenticity.

I’m not sure that David can see Russia while he’s on his way back to Washington.

WOW! that is some high thinking about one’s own writing. Should I read your article or wait for the movie.

    LOL, you made my day.

So David, what you’re really saying is that nobody should read your article. 🙂

Insane. Apple is earning alot of money selling FCP and powerful macpros with it. An FCP update will surely be available next NAB.

Someone who either currently or did work at Avid started the infamous rumor last year that Apple was selling the ProApps during NAB time. Sounds like the same folks at work on this one.

I think Fox’s decision was really about working on the Windows platform and not wanting to spend too much money on an Avid. Smart move quite honestly if Windows is your thing.
